S18 transformer cores
Iron Core Material
The iron core of the S18 transformer usually selects high-quality cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets. These silicon steel sheets have undergone precise cold-rolling processes, and the internal grains are highly aligned in the same direction, which endows the iron core with a good foundation for magnetic properties.
Performance Characteristics
• High Permeability Performance
• It has a high permeability and can generate a relatively strong magnetic induction intensity under a relatively small magnetic field strength. This is of great significance during the operation of the transformer, because it means that only a small exciting current is needed to establish a sufficient magnetic field, thus effectively reducing the no-load loss and improving the efficiency of the transformer.
• Low Iron Loss Characteristics
• Iron loss mainly consists of hysteresis loss and eddy current loss. The cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel sheets used in the S18 transformer iron core have a relatively narrow hysteresis loop and a low hysteresis loss. Meanwhile, the thin sheet structure of the silicon steel sheets and the good insulating coating on the surface help to reduce the eddy current loss. The combination of these two aspects keeps the iron loss of the iron core at a low level and reduces the energy loss during the operation of the transformer.
• Excellent Magnetic Stability
• Whether under different working temperatures or in the face of load changes, the S18 transformer iron core can maintain relatively stable magnetic properties. This is crucial for maintaining the stability
of the output voltage and current of the transformer, effectively reducing voltage fluctuations and waveform distortions, and providing more stable and reliable electrical energy for the power system.
Iron Core Structure.
• Laminated Structure
• The iron core of the S18 transformer is generally of a laminated structure. In this structure, silicon steel sheets are stacked one by one, and an insulating layer is set between every two silicon steel sheets. In this way, the area of the loop formed by eddy currents can be significantly reduced, thus effectively reducing the eddy current loss. Besides, the laminated structure also has the advantages of being convenient for manufacturing and installation, and the size and shape of the iron core can be flexibly adjusted according to the actual specifications and usage requirements of the transformer.
• Three-Phase Iron Core Structure (for Three-Phase Transformers)
• In a three-phase transformer, the iron core mainly consists of three limb cores and upper and lower yokes. The three-phase windings are respectively sleeved on the three limb cores. This structure can make the distribution of the three-phase magnetic fields more uniform, reduce the losses caused by the imbalance of the three-phase magnetic circuits, and ensure the balance of the three-phase operation of the transformer.
Manufacturing Process
• Silicon Steel Sheet Processing
• First of all, the silicon steel sheets need to be processed. The coiled silicon steel sheets are cut into pre-designed sizes and shapes. During the cutting process, high precision should be ensured to ensure that the laminations can be closely and accurately spliced later. In some cases, punching operations also need to be carried out on the silicon steel sheets to make holes for installing windings and other components.
